• Adult Work Program Saves Money and Strengthens Community Ties

Marin County’s Adult Offender Work Program (AOWP) was producing great results, but California fiscal realities were squeezing the program’s budget.

The Marin County Probation Department, which manages AOWP, needed a way to lower the jail alternative program’s operating costs, without sacrificing outcomes.

    Innovative Vision Comes to Life

The department envisioned a highly efficient paperless process that connected clients, community organizations, and probation staff.  It needed a partner to help it bring that vision to life.

The department engaged RedMane to implement its mCase portal solution, part of the mCase Community Supervision suite.

The mCase portal is a powerful, mobile-friendly and web-based application that replaces the paper-based, manually intensive processes traditionally associated with linking clients and work opportunities.

    Better Outcomes

Clients use the portal to search for and apply for work opportunities.  They self-select when and where they are able to work.

Community organizations use the portal to post openings, manage schedules, and record attendance.  Clients and community organizations can communicate directly through the portal so everyone stays up-to-date.

Probation staff access the portal to verify compliance and identify clients that need further follow-up.

The net result is reduced administrative cost, increased community engagement, and better outcomes for clients and the community.
