Alberta’s Ministry of Community and Social Services, previously known as the Ministry of Human Services (HS), was unable to provide sufficient oversight of the previous systems integrator of its Intervention Services Information System (ISIS) project implementation. This complex child welfare system project was perceived as falling behind schedule, and existing solutions didn’t support business needs.

RedMane developed a remediation plan that provided project assessment, interim project management, ongoing design and system architecture. Issues were identified, and we developed an effective strategy and business case for a revised implementation approach. We worked with business users and the technical team to develop new designs for online application, interfaces and conversion. Business acceptance of the ISIS system has greatly increased, and our efforts marked a radical turnaround for a highly distressed project.

Satisfied with our approach and vast human services expertise, Alberta HS asked us to oversee the redesign and solutioning of its entire Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). We developed a completely new, phased implementation approach that greatly reduced business risk, with a less disruptive implementation cycle. RedMane continues to provide strategic management support to confirm that emerging business, policy, regulatory and legislative needs are implemented into the SACWIS product.
