The Georgia Department of Human Services rapidly implemented the mCase Child Welfare mobile solution in under 90 days from kickoff. mCase helps Georgia child welfare caseworkers manage cases more efficiently so they can better serve and engage families in the community.
Child welfare agencies are in a staff retention crisis that is impacting children and busting agency budgets. Of all things, targeted use of modern technology has shown it can improve front-line worker job satisfaction, which can stem the tide of attrition and improve child and family outcomes.
Social workers rely heavily on professional judgement when determining a course of action. Too often though, they must make time-critical decisions regarding safety with only limited data. Or, they have raw data available, but not in a form that helps their understanding or gives them much needed context for a given situation.
Now more than ever, agencies need to revolutionize the way caseworkers work. High worker turn-over and too many children in out-of-home placements are leading to exploding costs at a time when budgets are being squeezed. RedMane’s mCase Child Welfare Mobile is the rapidly deployable, cost-effective route to reduce turnover, focus more on prevention, and start the modernization process.
Recent analysis by the QIC-WD indicates Virginia’s child welfare modernization, which includes equipping several thousand staff with RedMane’s mCase mobile solution, is freeing valuable caseworker time for more critical work and improving overall caseworker job satisfaction. The Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Development (QIC-WD) is funded by the Children’s Bureau at the Administration for Children and Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
