The state of Louisiana’s Medicaid group, part of the Department of Health  (DOH), was using a legacy system that covered more than four million residents, and needed to be replaced quickly. To meet this goal, RedMane designed, developed and implemented the rules-based Medicaid Eligibility Data System (MEDS) under intense deadlines. The on-time and on-budget completion of this initial project led to ongoing custom maintenance, support and enhancement services, as business requirements, state and federal laws have mandated changes.

For nearly two decades, RedMane has provided extensive support and enhancements to the MEDS system. Examples include automatic income budget determination; automatic renewals processing; addition of the MEDSWeb dashboard with key performance indicators and graphical management reporting; support for premium-based Medicaid and revised SCHIP business rules; and maintaining interfaces with Child Support Enforcement (CSE) and the state’s Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS).
